QUALIFICATIONS:

Young Artist Studio Faculty should be theatre artists who have worked either professionally or have taught in a collegiate setting. Faculty candidates should have experience working as an instructor with students ages 13-18. We are looking for individuals who will be able to offer skills and experience that will help build the tool box of young performers who are seriously considering theatre as a career.

Instructors should know how to offer students constructive feedback, support, guidance, compassion, and connection in addition to concrete skills, technique, exercises, and observations.

Past classes have included: Advanced acting technique, storytelling, musical theatre audition technique, beginning musical theatre choreography, stage combat, ballet, music theory/sight singing, acting for the camera, marketing for the actor, performing shakespeare, speech and voice, textwork, and movement for the actor. We will likely offer many of these classes again, and would love to add to the list of potential electives with classes such as: dialect work, directing, contemporary voice, Viewpoints work, improvisation, playwriting, puppetry, circus skills for the actor, arts management, and other topics that will give students a taste of the many fields and opportunities that they might continue to pursue beyond High School!
