ABOUT THE SHOW: ten for all
civic theatre’s ten-minute playwriting festival
Back for its third year, the Ten For All festival will present original 10-minute plays written by West Michigan playwrights. In 2021 and 2022, the inaugural festival received over 100 submissions for plays in several categories. These plays were anonymously read and scored, then adjudicated by local theatre experts and media and business leaders. The top plays in each category were performed live on stage at the Meijer Majestic Theatre, and audience members voted to give one playwright the coveted “Audience Choice” award. The festival will be bigger and better in 2023, and we’re excited to see what wonderful scripts our local talent can create for us to enjoy. Rating pending based on submitted content.

HOW ARE THE FINALISTS DETERMINED?
From many submissions, semifinalists will be chosen in each category and receive a staged reading, adjudication by our judges, and receive a cash prize. Then, a single play in each category will be fully produced on the Meijer Majestic Stage for our final round of competition.
Ten For All Semi-Finals will be live staged readings on the Meijer Majestic Stage at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, and we’re inviting our community along for the ride! Dates to be announced in the fall.
Once the show has opened, you can CLICK HERE to access the show’s Digital Playbill. Why digital and not printed? This decision had many factors that went into it including the reduction of our paper footprint in an effort to be more climate-conscious as well as budgetary restrictions coming out of the pandemic. Digital Playbills remain archived long-term and can be accessed HERE.
