Hannah DeBoer

Musical Theatre Teacher

A native of Grand Rapids, Hannah is a lover of musical theatre, a trained opera singer, and someone who is forever learning and trying new things. Twenty-some years ago, she was first exposed to the world of theatre at GRCT’s School of Theatre Arts, and is so happy to now teach with this program! A performer of musical theatre, Western Classical music, and choral music, Hannah has a Master of Music in Voice Performance from Wichita State University and a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance from Grand Valley State University. Previously, Hannah taught classical and musical theatre and created the first musical theatre voice class at Wichita State University, and taught voice lessons for non-music majors at Grand Valley State University. She now runs DeBoer Voice Studio (www.deboervoicestudio.com), where she works with private voice students of all ages and abilities (specializing in musical theatre and Western Classical music), and teaches voice lessons at Northview High School and Grandville Middle School. In 2022, Hannah co-founded Vox GR, Grand Rapids’ premiere professional choral ensemble, comprised of local, professional singers who together perform a wide repertoire of choral music from composers of diverse backgrounds. As Director of Education and Community Outreach of Vox GR, she has created a program to give accessible, free voice lessons at a local area high school. Hannah most recently appeared on the Civic stage in Shakespeare in Love and School of Rock, and directed the School of Theatre Arts Camp in Concert production of Les Miserables: School Edition.
