TOURS

 

Step inside the magic of live theatre with customizable tours designed for preschool and kindergarten students through adults and senior participants. These immersive experiences offer a behind‑the‑scenes look at how a production comes to life while sparking curiosity, creativity, and imagination.

Tours can be tailored to your group’s interests and include a historical overview, behind‑the‑scenes exploration, and interactive play or creative activities in one of our rehearsal halls. Participants will visit rehearsal spaces, the costume shop, scene shop, dance studio, green room, dressing rooms, and even step onstage- seeing firsthand how performers, designers, and technicians collaborate to tell a story dependent on room availability throughout the theatre. 

Tours typically run 1–2 hours, depending on group needs, goals, and desired level of interaction. Organizations are encouraged to reach out to discuss age‑appropriate options, accessibility needs, and customization details.

SENIOR PROGRAMMING

 

Senior programming brings music, movement, and storytelling to your community: creating moments of joy, connection, and creativity. Designed to support emotional well‑being and social engagement, these interactive experiences boost mood, spark memory, and reduce isolation through shared artistic expression.

From lively sing‑alongs and gentle creative movement to improv, acting, and game‑based experiences like Golden Age Broadway Bingo, participants are invited to move, laugh, remember, and connect. No prior experience required. Programs are adaptable to a wide range of abilities and can be offered as one‑time events or multi‑week courses. Course content could include a variety of dance styles (bachata, tap, musical theatre, stretching and strengthening, etc.), improv, or acting.

CORPORATE IMPROV 

Bring energy, connection, and confidence to your team with interactive improv workshops designed for professional growth. Rooted in the principles of theatre, these sessions help participants strengthen communication, build trust, and think on their feet all in a fun, low-pressure environment. Whether your group is well-established or new to one another, participants will leave feeling more confident, connected, and ready to engage.

Speak Up! Improv for Confident Communication: 

Fun, high-energy session that introduces your team to the fundamentals of improvisation and confident communication.

Participants will leave this session with the skills to improvise in an informal meeting session, have confidence when giving a presentation to a crowd, and make deeper connections to clients and peers.

Tighten Up the Team: 

A fast-paced, game-based improvisation workshop that focuses on teambuilding and collaboration! This session is sure to get your team laughing, bonding, and getting comfortable with one another whether they have worked together for years or are new to the team.

Sessions are led by our trained teaching artists and can be customized to meet your team’s goals. Workshops are available in 1-3 hour formats and can be hosted on-site at your organization or at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre, depending on availability.
