Allyson Paris is Theatre Faculty at Muskegon Community College. Before working at MCC, she was staff at GRCT where she directed more than twenty productions at GRCT including: The SpongeBob Musical, Mary Poppins, Once, Matilda, Newsies, The Little Mermaid, My Fair Lady, Akeelah and the Bee, Beauty & the Beast, and Sister Act. Allyson has also worked as a director, music director, and instructor of theatre for The Colorado Springs Conservatory (CO), The Academy of Children’s Theatre (CO), Sacramento Opera (CA), Solano College & Youth Theatre (CA) and Hawaii Opera Theatre (HI). She holds an MFA from the University of Hawaii-Manoa and a BA from Bradley University.
What inspires you?
Tenacity! People who stare down challenges and make good things happen even in the face of adversity.
Who is your favorite fictional character?
Anne of Green Gables. She’s a dreamer whose choices land her in some challenging situations, but she always finds her way out! And at the end of the day she lets her love for her friends & family and her zest for life lead the way.
What was your favorite after school snack growing up?
My mom’s homemade chocolate chip cookies with milk.
