Mary Kate Murnen is thrilled to join Grand Rapids Civic Theater this fall as a Teaching Artist. A graduate of Grand Valley State University, Mary Kate studied Communications and Theater with a focus on Music, Film, and Video, honing her skills in creative storytelling and the arts. She has been an active member of the West Michigan theater community for many years both onstage and behind the scenes, some of her favorite productions include Grizabella in Cats, Kira in Xanadu, and Hildy in On The Town. She also brings to her classes mentoring and directorial experience, having spent many years helping lead her collegiate A Cappella group, and most recently was the Assistant Director for GRCT’s Rock Of Ages.
