Music Direction, Voice

It’s amazing how even one show can change a life. For Vicente Frampton, that one show was Civic’s production of School of Rock in the summer of 2022. Through that one show, Vicente had the opportunity to learn from inspirational directors like Allyson Paris, Craig Swatt and Erin Robere. Through that one show, Vicente met Phoebe Dawson, and because of that connection, became music director for Dreamworks’ Madagascar Jr. in 2023 and Disney’s Descendants in 2025 at Over the Top Academy of Dance. And through that one show, Vicente will be music directing for the City Wide Drama Club’s Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief The Musical, The Young Audience edition in partnership with Civic Theater. You never know how one show will change your life. I am thrilled to be partnering with Civic and the City Wide Drama Club!

Vicente has 12+ years of teaching music in the Grand Rapids area, and is currently the choir director at Grand Rapids Christian Middle School. As a lifelong learner, he holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Calvin University and a master’s degree in music from Liberty University. In addition, Vicente is also involved in local ministry as worship leader at Cornerstone Church in Grand Rapids. In his free time, Vicente spends time with his family, reads books, and sings with the West Michigan Voices of Pride. Vicente firmly believes, “If there was one last safe place in this world, that place would be musical theater.”
