Musical Theatre Teacher

Laura has been teaching music for 26 years. She is a graduate of Western Michigan University where she performed with Gold Company and traveled as a performing artist with Up with People. She has a masters degree in Arts and Curriculum from Michigan State University. She has a passion for writing curriculum and thinking about how kids learn. 

The past eleven years she has been teaching elementary music and choir for Caledonia Community Schools. She enjoys working with K-5 students and bringing their performance skills to the stage. She also enjoys writing productions with students. 

She performed as a child with the Savannah Civic Theater and also Saginaw Civic Theater. She is excited to be working with students at the GRCT and cannot wait to embrace the artistry found right here in her own community! 

When she is not teaching, she enjoys her family, her dog, piano, ukulele, reading, and traveling.
