Justin Boone – (Charlie Brown) This is Justin’s first year in Summer Stock.  He portrayed the role of Tigger in GRCT’s Winnie- the- Pooh this spring. He will be a junior at Sparta High School where he has appeared in Rumors, Romeo and Juliet, and Working. He is also involved in choir, drama and band and takes dance at Liz Antor’s Dance Arts.  He enjoys singing, running and volunteering.
Lucas Brooks – (Will Scarlet) Lucas will be a sophomore at City High School this fall, where he is involved in Drama and Forensics.    He was in GRCT’s 2001 Traveling Troupe show The Yellow Boat and last year’s Summer Stock production of Voices From the Shore.  He has taken 6 years of theatre training at the Civic, including 4 years of Theatre Arts Day Camp and 3 years of Phase II camps.  Also, he has served on the crew of Civic’s productions of Dracula’s Treasure, Communicating Doors, Peter Pan and Art.  He is also a Theatre Assistant for Theatre Arts Day Camp.
Meryl Chaffee –(Fawning Lady) Meryl will be a sophomore at East Grand Rapids High School next year, where besides drama, she is also involved in cross country and Forensics.  She appeared in The Fiendish Firebug Strikes Again and was on the deck crew and costume crew for How To Succeed in Business… This is her first year in summer Stock.  She enjoys reading, writing and role-playing games.
Angela Chervenka  - (Little Red-Haired Girl) Angela joins Summer Stock for the first time this year, but she is no stranger to GRCT.  She has worked stage crew for many shows here and at East Grand Rapids High School where she will be a junior in the fall.  She has taken many years of tap, jazz, hip hip and ballet and is on the competition dance team at the Moving Co.  She is a member of the Thespian Society and also sings in the choir.
Madeline Command – (Friar Tuck) This is Madeline’s first Summer Stock production, but she has been very active in drama at Kenowa Hills High School where she will be a senior next fall.  At KHS she has appeared in Brigadoon, Spoon River Anthology, The Sound of Music, A Night at the Theatre, and The Pirates of Penzance.   Besides singing and acting she enjoys writing, playing softball and rollerblading. Her motto is “Shoot for the moon, even if you miss, you’ll be among stars.”
Matthew Elmore – (Schroeder) Matt has previously appeared in Master Arts Theatre Summer Stock productions of Snow White, Pocahontas, and Charlotte’s Web.  He enjoys playing piano and currently holds a Brown Belt at the Shorinkan Karate Academy. You may have seen him in The Wizard of Oz at GRCT. At Master Arts he has appeared in main stage productions of Shadowlands, Brigadoon, and It’s A Wonderful Life. He also appeared in H.M.S. Pinafore at Cornerstone University. His most recent credit at GRCT is composing the original music for this season’s production of The Children’s Hour.  This is Matt’s third Summer Stock production.
Kyle Emelander – (Robin Hood) Kyle will be a sophomore at Hudsonville High School this fall.  He played the bully in this past season’s production of Dracula’s Treasure and most recently portrayed the King in the 2002 Traveling Troupe production of The Invisible Dragon. He has been involved in classes at GRCT’s School of Theatre Arts, completing the Theatre Wheel curriculum and appearing in Phase II productions.  This is his first Summer Stock appearance.
Jimmy Fillmore – (Prince John) – This is Jimmy’s first Summer Stock production.  A 2002 graduate of Forest Hills Northern High School, he appeared as Prince Charming in their production of Cinderella Wore Combat Boots. He also lettered in track all four years and was involved in Ski Club, Project Charlie and the Volunteer Board.  He is currently a model for Impulse Models and Talent.
Julia Freyer – (Peppermint Patty) Julia will be a freshman at City High this fall.  She has been very involved at GRCT for many years, winning the 500 Volunteer Hour award in 2001.  Her most recent stage appearance was in this season’s production of The Children’s Hour. She has been involved in Theatre Arts Day Camp, Phase II, and the Acting Academy in the School of Theatre Arts and takes dance at the Academy of Performing Arts and the Grand Rapids Ballet and studies voice with Sherry Lee Allen.  She is also a Theatre Assistant for Theatre Arts Day Camp this year.  Her other interests include sewing, reading and painting.  This is Julia’s first Summer Stock appearance.
Tessa Haviland – (Merry Man) Tessa joins summer Stock for the first time this year, but has been involved in GRCT summer programs since 1998, having spent three summer in Theatre Arts Day Camp and one in Phase II.  She played the role of the Princess in this year’s Traveling Troupe production of The Invisible Dragon.  She will be a sophomore at Forest Hills Northern High School where she is involved in drama.  She enjoys reading, horseback riding and swing dancing.
Shannon Higley – (Fawning Lady) This is Shannon’s first Summer Stock experience.  But she isn’t new to GRCT.  She has been involved in Theatre Arts Day Camp and Phase II and is currently a Theatre Assistant for Jr. Theatre Arts Day Camp and Kidsplay Kamp. A sophomore at Forest Hills Northern High School, where she was in Once Upon A Mattress, she is also involved in the French Club and claims to be too lazy to be involved in sports! 
Emmi Hilger – (Sally) This is Emmi’s third year of Summer Stock. Emmi has been involved in the Theatre Arts Day Camp programs and has taken dance, voice, and acting classes in the School of Theatre Arts. Currently she studies voice with Sherry Lee Allen and take dance at both the Academy of Performing Arts and the Grand Rapids Ballet. Emmi has worked numerous shows backstage at GRCT and other theatres in town and was in the 2001Traveling Troupe production of The Yellow Boat. Emmi will be junior at East Grand Rapids High School in the fall, where she is involved in drama, appearing this past year in “Ezigbo, The Spirit Child.” Emmi also serves as a Theatre Assistant for the Theatre Arts Day Camp.
Susan Jolink – (Frieda) This is Susie’s first year in Summer Stock at GRCT, but she has been very involved with the Riverbend Players where she appeared in Meet Me in St. Louis and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown. She has helped with workshops for the Community Theatre Association of Michigan and is on the Fine Arts Team at Grandville High School where she is a sophomore.  She is also involved in choir, Forensics and Swim Team at school and was a member of the Blue Lake International Choir touring Europe.
Andrea Ludwig – (Merry Man) Andrea recently appeared as the mime character “Stage Manager” in the 2002 Traveling Troupe production of The Invisible Dragon.  This is her first Summer Stock production, but she has been involved with classes at the School of Theatre Arts for many years.  This year she is a Theatre Assistant for Kidsplay Kamp.
Christine Marfia – (Lady in Waiting) Christine is a familiar face in Summer Stock.  She has also appeared in Jr. Summer Stock productions of Harrison Bergeron and Really Rosie, and has been a Theatre Assistant for GRCT’s Spring Break Escape.  She is currently a freshman at Grand Rapids Community College, where she has been taking acting classes.  She enjoys belly dancing and Renaissance Festivals in her spare time.
Julie Milligan – (Marci) This is Julie’s second year in Summer Stock. At GRCT, she has appeared in The Magic Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle, Free to Be… You and Me, and the 2001 Traveling Troup production of The Yellow Boat.  Additionally, she dances with the Jr. Company of the Academy of Performing Arts and was involved in the Van Andel Arena’s World Party 2000.  A sophomore at Forest Hills Northern High School, she has appeared there in MASH and Once Upon a Mattress.
Kathy Mountz – (Allan Adale) This is Kathy’s second Summer Stock appearance, having portrayed the Dying Girl in last year’s Voices From the Shore, and has appeared in Once Upon a Mattress at Comstock Park High School, where she will become junior in the fall.  Kathy has worked backstage on many productions at GRCT including Singin’ in the Rain, Anne of Green Gables, Communicating Doors, Rebecca, Dracula’s Treasure, Peter Pan, Sweeney Todd, Winnie-the-Pooh and Art.   (Looks like she’s going for that 500 Volunteer Hour Award this season!) She has also been active in several GRCT training programs and will be a Theatre Assistant in Theatre Arts Day Camp later this summer.
Stephanie Norton – (Woodstock) Stephanie makes her Summer Stock debut this year, but is no stranger around GRCT.  Active in the School of Theatre Arts for many years, she also worked as Marketing Intern this year in the GRCT offices.  She also worked backstage for Winnie-the-Pooh and is a Theatre Assistant for Kidsplay Kamp and Jr. Theatre Arts Day Camp this summer.  Stephanie is home schooled and has taken many years of piano and voice lessons.  She enjoys her many pets, which include six Persian cats and one “plain, old, black cat.”
Shanelle Oliver – (Fawning Lady) Shanelle teams up with Summer Stock for the first time, but has been very active in GRCT’s School of Theatre Arts all year.  She completed the Theatre Wheel Curriculum and was a member of the 2002 Traveling Troupe production of The Invisible Dragon. She will also be a Theatre Assistant for Theatre Arts Day Camp later this summer.  At Master Arts Theatre, she was in Summer Stock productions of Charlotte’s Web and Sleeping Beauty. She will be a sophomore at Hudsonville High School in the fall where she is involved in the Science Club and the Improv Club.
Krista Pennington – (Prince John’s Guard) Krista is new to GRCT and Summer Stock.  A junior at Comstock Park High School, she is involved in French Club and Debate and worked backstage on Once Upon A Mattress. She also enjoys dance (tap and jazz) and drawing in her spare time.
Rachel Proulx – (Lady Marian) This is Rachel’s second year as a Summer Stock Trouper, and she been very involved in GRCT’ School of Theatre Arts.  Rachel has been in 2 performance classes and various theatre wheel classes. She will also be a Theatre Assistant for Theatre Arts Day Camp and Phase II this summer.  Rachel enjoys writing short stories and poetry. She will be a senior at West Catholic High School, where she has appeared in Twelfth Night, Fools and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. This summer she appeared in Mossy Cape at Circle Theatre and will be a member of the Romeo and Juliet ensemble in GRCT’s first production of the 2002-03 season. 
Ahnna Rooy – (Fawning Lady) Ahnna has been involved in GRCT acting classes and has performed with the Pirate Ship Players performance class, but this is her first year of Summer Stock.   She was a member of the 2002 Traveling Troupe production of The Invisible Dragon.  She will be a freshman at Grand Rapids Christian High next year.  She has been involved with the swim team and drama.
Nicole Stachura – (Town’s Girl – a Merry Man wannabe) Nicole is diving in at GRCT this summer with her Summer Stock debut.  She is also working as a Theatre Assistant for Kidsplay Kamp. She will be a freshman at Alma College this fall. While at Grandville High School, she appeared in Little Women, Carnival, The Miracle Worker, Much Ado About Nothing, Guys and Dolls and many others.  She plays the clarinet and enjoys being involved with her church.
Sarah Stark – (Little John) This is Sarah’s third Summer Stock production.  She was also a member of both the 2000 and 2001 Traveling Troupe productions and has taken many classes in GRCT’s School of Theatre Arts.  A junior at Coopersville High School, Sarah is involved in soccer and choir and has also participated in school musical productions.  She has  taken classes at and been in Master Arts Theatre Summer Stock productions.  She enjoys horseback riding, art, soccer and going to movies with friends.
Kristi Szczepanek – (Snoopy) Kristi has been involved at Civic Theatre “forever”. You may remember her as Tootles in this past season’s production of Peter Pan.  She will be a senior at Kenowa Hills High School, where she has appeared in The Sound of Music, Up the Down Staircase, and The Pirates of Penzance.  Besides drama, she plays violin in the school orchestra, is a student council member, a member of The National Honors Society, and French Club. In addition to Summer Stock, Kristi will be a Theatre Assistant for Theatre Arts Day Camp this summer after returning from a two-week trip to France.
Rachele Thomas – (Cute Little Girl) This is Rachele’s second year in Summer Stock. She has performed in several plays at Civic, including Free to Be… You and Me, Camelot, Cinderella and A Little Princess. Other theatre credits include Tuck Everlasting (Circle Theatre) and Anne Frank and Me (Grand Rapids Jewish Theatre).  Rachele is a sophomore at Forest Hills Northern High School.
Jeff Thomas – (Sheriff of Nottingham) This will be Jeff’s first Summer Stock production. He has been involved with GRCT’s Theatre Arts Day Camp, Phase II and was in the 2001 Traveling Troupe production of The Yellow Boat.  He’ll also be a Theatre Assistant later this summer for the Theatre Arts Day Camp.  A student at City High, he has been involved in this year’s competition one-act, soccer and baseball. He also worked crew for GRCT’s production of Sweeney Todd. 
Laurie Renae Veldheer – (Lucy) This is Laurie’s first opportunity to be involved in Summer Stock, but she has been very busy performing at GRCT.  Credits include: The King and I, The Sound of Music, Scrooge, The Wizard of Oz, Peter Pan and, most recently, The Children’s Hour.  At Hope Summer Rep, she has appeared in Annie and Johnny Pye.  A junior at Grand Rapids Christian High, she has been involved in school productions and takes private voice lessons and has been dancing for 13 years.  She will also appear this summer in Into the Woods at Circle Theatre.
Andrew Wilkinson – (Rerun) Andrew is a student at Grand Rapids City High School where he has appeared in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Fools and scenes from The Star-Spangled Girl at the state-level Forensics competition. He is also involved in band, jazz band (flute, tenor and baritone sax) and Quiz Bowl.  Andrew is a member of the North American Choral Company and also sings in his church choir. This is his first year in Summer Stock.
Andrew Williams  - (Linus) Andy has been involved with Summer Stock at GRCT since it’s inception. He will be a senior at East Kentwood High School this fall where he is a member of the yearbook staff, the Performing Arts Company and the drama club.  He was in GRCT productions of Scrooge, Fiddler on the Roof, and Peter Pan.  At EKHS he has performed in The Music Man, and Broken Hearts, 42nd Street and Romeo and Juliet, to name a few.  He has also performed with Opera Grand Rapids and has extensive dance training.  He plans to attend Columbia College in the future to study musical theatre and choreography.
