The cast of our 2007 Production of THE ADVENTURES OF NATE THE GREAT
Annie Bulthuis (Annie) is appearing for the first time on Grand Rapids Civics stage. She is a freshman at Grand Rapids Christian High School where shes taken acting classes and appeared in Joseph and the Amazing Technocolor Dreamcoat. Annie performed in Honk, Jr. and The Glass Slipper while at Grand Rapids Christian Middle School, and has been in plays at church.
Briella Cumings (Rosamond) is well known on stage in Lowell, where shes played a Sheep in Babe the Sheep Pig, the 7 of Spades in Alice in Wonderland and Puck in A Midsummer Nights Dream. Briella attends Forest Hills Central High School where she is in her freshman year. This is her first show with the Civic Theatre.
Nathan Ferrick (Nate) is part of the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre School of Theatre Arts, where he completed one of the Acting Theatre Wheels. Nate first appeared on Civic Stage with last years Traveling Troupe. The Troupe presented Story Theatre both at home on our own Meijer Majestic stage and with performances in schools throughout the greater Grand Rapids area all last Spring. He is in 7th grade at Excel Charter Academy.
Keenan Foley (Dave) is a Senior at Grand Rapids City High School where he is active in theater and forensics, and has been part of the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre family since 2002! Hes completed one of the acting Theatre Wheels and performed onstage with Pirate Ship Players and was part of Traveling Troupe 2005 as Bradley in Somebody Catch my Homework. Keenan has volunteered backstage, as an office intern, and a Theatre Assistant for GRCT classes. Hes performed with Summer Repertory Troupe twice: in Really Rosie and as the Baker in Into the Woods, Jr.
Jordan Gabites (Kate) is in the 9th grade at Grand Rapids Christian High School. She first appeared on Civics stage in The Adventures of Madeline and then as the title character in Lilys Purple Plastic Purse. Jordan has taken a lot of classes here at GRCT, including the Phase II theatre camp twice! When shes not onstage, Jordan may be found backstage shes crewed both Oliver with Circle Theatre and The Wizard of Oz with Civic. While attending GR Christian MS, Jordan appeared in The Glass Slipper and Honk, Jr.
Alec Juarez (Finley) is in the sixth grade and this is his first role with Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. Hes taken acting here at Civic and is a First Class Rank Boy Scout. Alec has appeared with Thebes Players as Peter Rabbit in Humpty-Dumpty is Missing; as a Parrot in Two Nights Before Christmas with Childrens Creations; and as Rabbit in the On With The Show! Acting Troupes production of Snow White and Rose Red.
Natalie Krzewski (Sludge) goes to Jenison Junior High. She attended Theatre Arts Day Camp at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre this summer and appeared onstage in the final production: Hogwurst, the Forbidden Forest. This is her first main-stage role with GRCT. Bitten with the acting bug back in grade school, where she appeared in Best Little Theatre in Town, Natalie went on to playing an orphan in Circle Theatres production of Oliver. She is also a voice talent for radio commercials and Uncle Charlies Childrens Bible Hour.
Jake Mate (Fang) This is Jakes first show here at Grand Rapids Civic. He is a 7th grader at Jenison Junior High School. Jake is a voice talent for radio commercials, Sun Spot Productions, and the radio program Shetalks with Sheila Hart. Hes appeared in several Jenison High School productions as Jack Rabbit in Seussical the Musical, Knag the cobra in Jungle Book, and a Knight in Princess Frog. Even back in elementary school, Jake loved theatre and played Penny Packer in Best Little Theatre in Town.
Marysa Miller (Claudia) has danced for 8 years! She loves dance and has taken tap, ballet, jazz, hip-hop and lyrical dance. She attends Bauerwood Elementary in Jenison and has appeared in the Jenison High School production of Rogers and Hammersteins Cinderella. Marysa attended the Jenison HS summer drama camp and played Horton in Horton Finds a Who with the camp. She sings in choir at church and school and has been singing solos since she was 5 years old. This is her first show with Civic Theatre.
Molly Monet (Esmeralda) has taken class voice lessons and completed an Acting Theatre Wheel here at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre School of Theatre Arts. She attends Forest Hills Central High School, where she is a freshman. This is her first role here at Civic Theatre. Molly has appeared in several shows with Childrens Creations: in Aesops Funny Fables; as a Munchkin in The Wizard of Oz; and as Nellie in Little House on the Prairie.
Natalie Nye (Harry) is in the fourth grade at St. John Vianney Elementary School. Shes taken classes here at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre School of Theatre Arts, and appeared onstage with GR Civic in 2004s production of Harriet the Spy. Besides theater, Natalie likes gymnastics.
Wyatt Phillips (Pip) attends Red Hawk Elementary in Cedar Springs, and took Winter Break Escape here at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre last year. This is his first role at GR Civic, but his theatrical career has included: Michael in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever with Cedar Springs Community Players; Michael in the Cedar Springs HS production of Peter Pan; and most recently, Michael in the debut of Fish and Visitors (a comedy written by his father) at the Kent Theatre in Cedar Springs. Wyatt is thrilled to play a character who ISNT named Michael.
Dan Schindler (Oliver) has taken classes at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre School of Theatre Arts nonstop since the Spring of 2006, completing an Acting Theatre Wheel, and appearing onstage in the Phase II public performance of original one-acts this past summer. Dan is in the 8th grade at Eastern Middle School in Forest Hills. He enjoys playing World of Warcraft, Improv games and reading.
