Patrick
Nowak (Children’s Ensemble) is an
8th grader at East Grand Rapids Middle School. He is excited to be back
on stage at Civic after playing Mike
Teavee in Willy Wonka.
Patrick’s first show at Grand Rapids Civic Theater was The
Wizard of Oz (05). He has also been in Junie
B. Jones, Miss Nelson is Missing,
and the Traveling Troupe production of Nate
the Great. Patrick has also been in shows at Circle Theater including
Pippin, Tommy, and Snow White. He
was in Carmen with Opera Grand
Rapids in 2007 and was also in Honk!
at Cornerstone University.
Keith
Rikli (Male Ensemble) is no stranger
to Grand Rapids Civic Theater. He first started acting in The Sound of Music in 2007 and later appeared
in A Wonderful Life and The Producers. He has also appeared as ‘Geoffrey’ in A Lion in Winter and ‘Sebastian’ in The Tempest at Heritage Theater. Keith
won the Floodie Award in 2009 for all of his volunteer hours at Grand
Rapids Civic Theater.
Kristopher
Bottrall
(Male Ensemble) is making his first appearance on the Civic stage! He
has been in other shows at Circle Theater including Snow
White (Leader of Dwarves) and Tommy
(Ensemble). In high school and college he has appeared in Cats (Rum Tum Tugger), Pinocchio
(Antonio), and A Christmas Carol
(Ghost of Christmas Present). Kristopher would like to thank his
family and Mr. Jeremy Schnotala.
Maddie
Dix (Children’s Ensemble) is in
10th grade at Rockford High School. She first appeared on the Civic
stage in 2004 in Madeline.
Since then she has been in The
Sound of Music and the traveling troupe production of Nate
the Great. Maddie also appeared in Just
So as a wildebeest, and Anything
Goes as a member of the ensemble at Interlochen. At her school she
has appeared in The Crucible as ‘Susanna Walcott’ in 2008
and Beauty and the Beast as
‘Sausage Girl’ in 2009. Maddie was awarded 1st place in Broadway, Classical,
and Pop Vocal at MMA music competition.
Katie
Wilson (Female Ensemble) is thrilled
to return to GRCT after recently appearing in The Producers and A Wonderful
Life. At Civic she has also appeared in Grease,
Oklahoma, and The Wizard of Oz. High School dramatics include: 42nd Street, Beauty and the Beast, and The
King And I. Katie was the title role in the ballet of Sleeping Beauty with the Creative Arts Repertoire Ensemble.
Leanne
Challa Rumery (Female Ensemble) is returning to the stage after just recently
appearing in Willy Wonka as
‘Mrs. Beaureguard’. With Civic she has appeared in Cabaret and Fiddler on the Roof.
Other community shows include Oliver
(Nancy) with Riverbend Players and Quilters
with LLC. In high school she appeared in Oklahoma
(Ado Annie) and The Boyfriend
(Polly). At the University of Michigan she participated in Chicago, Grease, Guys and Dolls, and West Side Story as ‘Anita’.
Addison
Reid Coe
(Prince) is very excited to be in this show, it’s a wonderful cast.
He is in his 5th year at Calvin College with a Business/Communications
Major. At Civic he has appeared in Grease
in 2007. He has also been in Tommy
at Circle Theater. At Calvin he appeared as Judas in “Godspell.”
He also studies voice with Charles Hutchins and Keith Brautigam.
As a member of Calvin’s Dance Guild, he has choreographed hip-hop dance
for the group. As a side business he tunes and works on Audi’s.

Nancy
Wagner (Fairy Godmother) first appeared
on the Civic stage in Oklahoma
in 2007 for which she received a Grand Award. She has appeared at Circle
Theatre in Sunday In The Park
With George (Old Lady/Blair Daniels); Actors Theater in Rabbit
Hole (Nat) and The Clean House
(Lane). Nancy is a Certified Lessac Practitioner with Lessac Training
and Research Institute of Voice and Movement for the Actor, and is a
member of Screen Actors Guild. Nancy currently teaches in the
theatre department at Grand Rapids Community College.
Justin
D. Kilduff
(Lionel) is appearing for the first time on the Civic stage. He has
been in several shows with other community theaters around Grand Rapids
such as: Circle Theater in Altar
Boyz (Abe) and Snow White (Frederick); Actors Theater
in The Wild Party (Oscar);
FRCP in Assassins (Charles Guteau) and Rocky Horror (Brad); and Dog Story Theatre
in Monday Comedy Nights. He
would like to thank his mother Michelle, his stepfather Dave, his aunts
Jeanette and Katie, and his cousin Kaitlyn for all their love and support.
Teri
Kuhlman (Queen) first appeared on
the Civic stage in the 2005 The
Wizard of Oz. She also appeared with us as Mrs. Shinn in The Music Man in 2006 and was awarded with the Civics Kopka award
for newcomer of the season that year. She has appeared in The Side Show ( Bearded Lady) and in The Kiss Of the Spider Woman (Mamma) with
Actors Theatre. At Circle Theatre she appeared as Mrs. Bedwin
in Oliver. She majored in Theater at
Kalamazoo College.
Alyssa
Garcia Bauer(
Cinderella) is returning to Civic stage after appearing in Sound of Music (Maria); 1776
(Martha Jefferson); and A Wonderful
Life (Mary Hatch). Alyssa has been in numerous shows at Hope College
as well as Snow White (Snow White) with Magic Circle
Theater and Guys and Dolls
(Sarah Brown) with Circle Theater. She was nominated for a Grand Award
for her performances in The Sound
Of Music and Guys And Dolls.
Suzanne
Alexander Tarta (Grace) is excited to act on the Civic stage for the first time after
just moving to Grand Rapids! Suzanne attended Baylor University in Texas
where she performed in School
House Rock Live! (Suzanne), Nunsense
(Mother Superior), Urinetown
(Little Becky Two Shoes), and Hair
(Jeanie) etc. She directed several shows at Baylor University
including: Snowing At Delphi; On the Piste; Theta’s Sing. She performed with M.I.O.B
workshops with Jodi Langel, Michael LaVene, Anthony Rapp, Donna Murphy
and Gavin Creel. She would like to thank her wonderful family
and fiancé for their support and the wonderful cast, crew and directors.
Travis
Knoll (Male Ensemble) He
was last seen at the Civic in The
Spelling Bee as ‘William Barfee’ and The
Producers as ‘Jason Greene/Ensemble’ as well as A Wonderful Life as ‘Bert’ and 1776 as ‘The Leather Apron’. He has appeared
in numerous productions elsewhere, including Guys And Dolls as ‘Rusty Charlie’ at Circle Theatre; ‘Neil
Tilden’ in 1940’s Radio Hour;
the title role in Joseph And The
Technicolor Dreamcoat;
‘The
Herald’ in Cinderella; ‘ Lun Tha’
in The King & I; ‘Sasha’
in Fiddler On The Roof and ‘Simon’ in Cotton Patch Gospel. He also appeared as
‘The Boss’ in Side Show and
as ‘Lefou’ in Beauty and the Beast.
Travis was also a Tenor soloist in the Muskegon Chorale’s performance
of Handel’s Messiah.
Anthony
Murphy (Men’s Ensemble) is a sophomore
at Northview High School. He first appeared at the Grand Rapids
Civic Theater in Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse. Since then he has been
in 4 traveling troupe productions as well as 2 Summer Repertory productions
including Alice (Sal) and
High School Musical 2 (Ensemble). He has
also played the title role in Oliver
at Rogue River. Anthony has been in many shows at Northview High
School including: Bye, Bye Birdie
(Ensemble) and Charlie And The
Chocolate Factory (Willy Wonka). He received an award in 2008 and
2009 for obtaining 500+ volunteer hours at Grand Rapids Civic Theater.
Rebekah
Karel (Female Ensemble) is in 11th
grade at Kenowa Hills High School. She is happy to return to the stage
after last appearing as ‘Taylor McKessie’ in the Civic Summer Repertory
production of High School Musical

The Musical at Holland Civic Theatre. Rebekah has acted in many
shows at her High School including Once
Upon A Mattress (Queen Aggravain), Oklahoma!
(Gertie Cummings), It’s A Wonderful
Life (Clairice), and Snoopy!!! (Peppermint
Patty). She also received 3rd place in Dramatic Interpretation at the
MIFA State Forensics Competition. She would like to thank her supportive
family and friends!
Mary
Lehmann (Children’s Ensemble) is a
junior at Comstock Park High School. She first appeared at Civic in
the 2004 production of Scrooge.
Since then she has also been in The
Wizard Of Oz and the Summer Repertory production of High
School Musical. Mary has appeared in Secret
Garden (Mary Lennox) at GVSU; Oliver
at Circle Theatre; and Annie
(Annie) at FRCP.
Elianna Bootzin
(Female Ensemble) Once upon a time, Elianna acted on Civic’s stage
as a new tooth in the first Theatre Arts Day Camp, I Didn’t Know That. She spent the next ten years training and
performing with the Grand Rapids Ballet Company, occasionally moonlighting
in Magic Circle productions of Nobody
Loves A Dragon, Henry and Ramona, and Mossy
Cape. Eventually she ran away to Cleveland, where, in addition
to earning her B.A. in biochemistry, she fell in with a commedia dell-arte
troupe, taking Dottore Who and
The Three Locks of Time on the road to MARCON in Columbus. Back
home in Grand Rapids, she worked backstage for Heritage Theatre Group’s
summer 2009 season. She is very excited to be in her first Civic
mainstage production!
Eva
Switek (Stepmother)is returning to the Civic stage for
the third time to play the ‘Stepmother’. Her very first show with
The Civic was A Chorus Line.
Other shows with The Civic include: Sound
Of Music (F. Schneider); Annie
(Miss Hannigan); The
Wizard of Oz (Witch); The
Producers (Hold Me Touch Me); Willy Wonka; Guys and Dolls; You Can’t Take it with You; and Fiddler On The Roof. She has performed
in numerous shows with Circle Theater such as: Chicago; Tropical Pickle; Oliver; Beauty And The Beast; Into The Woods; and
others. She was nominated for The Grand Awards for her performance
in Annie as ‘Miss Hannigan’ and Cinderella as ‘Stepmother’. She
has also preformed in numerous stages in the Grand Rapids area. She
would like to thank her husband Daniel, for his love and support in
all her endeavors.
Daniel
Krause (Male Ensemble) is excited
to be returning to the Civic stage after appearing in both High School Musical and High
School Musical 2 as ‘Troy Bolton’ with the Summer Repertory Theater.
He has also appeared with the Civic in The
Producers
and
as the Courier in 1776. He
was also ensemble for Guys and
Dolls at Circle Theater. Daniel received the Kapka Award and 500
hours of Volunteering Award from the Grand Rapids Civic Theater.
Daniel would like to thank his wonderful friends for all their support.
Sophie
Bolen (Children’s Ensemble) is eager
to be back on the Civic stage after last appearing in the Civic’s production
of Willy Wonka where
she played an ‘Oompa Loompa’, and Sound of Music. Her very first show with Civic was Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing. She
also appeared in Dr. Doolittle
with Master Arts Theatre. She has acted in several Thebes Players
productions including: The Lion
The Witch And The Wardrobe; Honk Jr.; and The
Velveteen Rabbit. At Forest Hills Central High School she
appeared in Footloose and Annie Get Your Gun. Sophie has won The Kent County 4-H Fair Karaoke
Competition twice for 12 and under. Sophie would like to thank
her Mom, Dad and her brother Alex for their support.
Madeline
Mathias (Children’s Ensemble) is excited
to be back for another show at The Civic Theatre. Her first show
with us was Sound Of Music.
She has also appeared in Bunnicula as
‘Bunnicula’
and
Willy Wonka where she was
an ‘Oompa Loompa’.
Other shows include Seussical with
Cornerstone University; Tosca
with Opera Grand Rapids and The
Sound Of Music with Forest Hills Central. Madeline also enjoys taking
voice lessons with Charles Hutchins and playing volleyball.
Kelsey
Kohlenberger (Joy) is returning to the Civic
stage after appearing in The
25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee as
‘Olive Ostrovsky’. Kelsey also appeared in The Sound Of Music with the Civic. She was the musical director
for Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor
Dream Coat and You’re
A Good Man Charlie Brown. At Grand Valley State University she appeared
as ‘Martha’ in The Secret Garden
and ‘Ruth’ in Pirates of Penzance. Kelsey
is a voice teacher at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre. Kelsey would
like, as always, to thank her wonderful husband, Michael, for his encouragement
and support.
Michael
Kohlenberger (Male Ensemble) is thrilled to be back
on the Civic stage after appearing in Tales
of a Fourth Grade Nothing and To
Kill A Mocking Bird. Michael appeared in Joseph
and The Amazing Technicolor Dream Coat (Levi)
and Get Smart (Mr. Big) with
Caledonia Community Players. At Heritage he appeared in Lone Star (Cletis). Michael appeared in
Lost in Yonkers (Jay) at Jewish Theatre.
Michael was part of the Student Theatrical Arts Guild for Entertainment
(STAGE) at Grand Valley State University. Michael would like to
thank his family for all their support and Kelsey for constantly encouraging
him. You are my star!
Carlee
Bleeker (Children’s Ensemble) is glad
to be back at Civic after just appearing in Willy Wonka as an ‘Oompa Loompa’.
She has also appeared in The Miracle
Worker with the Civic. At Rogue River Theatre she played ‘Annie
Moffat’ in Little Women, and
at Circle Theatre she was a gymnast for The
Frog Prince. Carlee’s other activities include: diving, gymnastics,
C.A.R.E- Jazz and Ballet with Judy Genson, and voice lessons with Charles
Hutchins. Carlee also plays the flute. Carlee would like
to thank her aunt Steffie for introducing her to theatre arts.
Chelsea
Herrema (Female Ensemble) is excited
for her first opportunity to be on the Civic stage. In high school
Chelsea participated in many school productions including: Les Miserables (Cosette); Ruddigore
(Mad Margaret);
The Music Man
(Eulalie M. Shinn); and The Laramie
Project. In college she participated in Opera Workshops including:
Hansel And Gretal (Gretal) and The Magic Flute (Pamina).
Chelsea
Klein (Female Ensemble) thrilled
to be with The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre again after appearing in High School Musical 2 as
‘Gabriella’. In High school Chelsea appeared in several shows
including: A Christmas Carol (Belle); Footloose (Rusty); Lady Windermere’s Fan (Lady Windermere); Arabian Nights (Supporting Roles); Anything Goes (Rene); and Little Women (Sally Gardiner).
Hopemarie
(Rie) Hower (Female Ensemble) is appearing
on the Civic stage for the first time. She recently re-located
from Scoul, Korea where she sang with an international women’s ensemble
group called Varioso. She
has enjoyed singing
and dancing all her life and is excited to be able to do both in this
production of Cinderella.
Her high school and college dramatics include: My
Fair Lady, Sound of Music and Oliver. She would like to thank
her friends and family for their support, especially: Craig, Bella,
Jacob, Nicolas and Nana.
Harrison
Witt (Children’s Ensemble) is excited
to be appearing for the first time on Civic’s stage. Harrison
has appeared in many shows at the Rogue River Community Theatre such
as Oliver (Bullseye); Scrooge (Peter Cratchett); and
Tom Sawyer (Tom Sawyer). At Flat
River Community Players Harrison appeared as ‘Ralphie’ in A Christmas Story; and at Ceder Springs Players he appeared
as ‘Bill’ in Cheaper by The Dozen. He
has also been taking hip hop lessons for 4 years. Harrison
would like to thank several people including, Penny Notter, Kelsey Dixon,
Mrs. Kash, Jason, Elise and his supportive family.
Baileigh
Aldrich (Children’s Ensemble) is excited
to be back on the Civic stage after appearing in several shows with
us including: Gypsy; Wizard of
Oz; Miss Nelson is Missing; and The
Miracle Worker. At The Opera Grand Rapids, Baileigh
appeared as ‘Carmen’ in Carmen
And Tosca. At Circle Theatre she appeared in The Frog Prince. She’d like to thank her
sister Sydney for encouraging her and believing in her.
Kimberly
Crawford Wolting (Female Ensemble) is thrilled
to on stage with the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre for the first time!
Kimberly’s high school and college dramatics include: Into the Woods (Rapunzel); Godspell
(Main cast);
Footloose (Ariel); Kiss Me, Kate! (Ensemble).
Merrill
Weber (Female Ensemble) is happy
to be on stage with Civic Theatre for the first time. Merrill’s high
school and college dramatics include: Suessical;
Midsummer Night Dream; Footloose; Bye Bye Birdie; Kenowa
Hills Dance Team, and GRCC Dance Team. Merrill was also able to
sing the National Anthem for the Harlem Globe Trotters at the Van Andel
Arena. Merrill would like to thank her mom for all her support
and love!
Mike
Dodge (King Maximillian) is happy to be returning
to the Civic stage after appearing in Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing and 1776 (Roger Sherman). At Heritage Theatre Mike appeared in Taming of the Shrew as
Grumio. At West Michigan Savoyards he appeared as ‘Don Alhambra’ in the Gondoliers . Mike would like to thank
Nancy, “without whom I would not be the king.”
Andrew
Williams (Male Ensemble) Andrew
has appeared at the Grand Rapids Civic Theatre several times in shows
including: Peter Pan (1996); Scrooge (1999); Fiddler on The Roof; Peter Pan (2001); Kiss me Kate; and 8 years of Summer Repertory Theatre.
Other community theatre productions include: La Cage Aux Folles (Circle Theatre); Mossy Cape (Magic Circle). Andrew
also appeared in Carmen And Tosca
with The Opera Grand Rapids. While Andrew attended Columbia College
he directed The Yellow Boat; The Goat Or Who is Sylvia? and The Rocky Horror Show. Andrew is the co-founder of E.K.A.P.
where he directed and choreographed Godspell.
Andrew is the choreographer for the hip hop artist “UNEEK” with Joe
Jackson’s new label Chi Coast entertainment.
Kylie
Piette (Female Ensemble) (Female Ensemble) is appearing in her
fourth show at Civic, fresh from stage managing this season’s opener,
The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee! She
has also been seen onstage at Civic in A
Wonderful Life, Oklahoma and The Wizard of Oz (‘05) and in
East Kentwood Alumni Performers’ production of Clue: the Musical.
For Civic, Kylie has previously stage managed 1776, The Sound of
Music, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and assistant
stage managed The Producers, Dreamgirls, Peter Pan, A Chorus Line, and four others. She has also stage
managed Guys and Dolls and Crowns for Circle Theater;
worked on crew for several shows at Civic (including Cinderella
- 2003), Circle, Heritage, and Actors’ Theaters; and directed Little
Shop of Horrors and Fame for Rogers High School. Kylie would
like to thank her dear family and friends for their support and encouragement.
Russ
Van Allen (Male Ensemble) is thrilled to be on the
Civic stage for the first time! Russ has performed at Master Arts Theatre
in Meet Me in St. Louis (John Truitt), and
at Caledonia Community Players he appeared in Get Smart as ‘Hodgkins’. At Triunity Christian School, he participated
in Rumors as ‘Leonard Ganz’.
Russ is studying voice with “Stepsister” Kelsey Kohlenberger.
