The cast of our 2009/2010 production of Moon Over Buffalo

 

Jerry Borths (Paul) is making his Grand Rapids theatre debut with his appearance in Moon Over Buffalo.  Jerry has appeared with Vista Theatre in Negaunee, MI in Noises Off, Brigadoon, Greater Tuna, and Greater Tuna Christmas.

 

 

Doug Everse (Richard) is returning to the Civic stage after appearing last fall in 1776 as Charles Thomson.  During the day Doug is a Science and US History teacher at Forest Hills Eastern High School (where he says he is always on stage).   Doug would like to thank his wife and children for their support and inspiration.  Go Hawks!

 

 

Margi Hankins (Charlotte Hay) last appeared in Civic’s production of Rumors where she played opposite of Jon March!  No stranger to the Civic stage, Margi’s first show at Civic was City of Angels in 1994.  Since then she has appeared in Love Letters (again with Jon March), Woody Guthrie’s American Song and Steel Magnolias.   Margi has also been a GRCT board member for 10 years and is currently serving on the Play Selection Committee for the organization. She received a Grand Award in 1998 for Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in Woody Guthrie.  Margi thanks her husband, Tad, for his support and encouragement in getting back to the stage.

Julie Kehr (Rosalind Hay) is thrilled to be on the Civic stage for the first time.   Julie has performed for the Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company appearing in Richard III, As You Like it, King Lear and  Comedy of Errors.   At Grand Valley she performed in Seven Passages, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Dining Room. The Furies & Cymbeline.  Julie is a graduate of Grand Valley State University and by day works at Spectrum Health Medical Group.  She would like to thank her parents for their continued support and rent-free housing!

 

Alex Kempsell (Howard) is appearing on the Civic Theatre stage for the first time and is excited to play the part of Howard.  Alex is attending Grand Valley State University and is a Theatre major.  Alex has performed with Midland Center for the Arts in Lil Abner, Black Comedy and  You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown.  Alex’s credits with GVSU include Romeo and Juliet and with Midland High School Guys & Dolls and Seussical.

 

Jon March (George Hay) first appeared on Civic's stage in the 1992 production of Other People's Money. Since then he has played numerous roles, including Atticus Finch in To Kill A Mockingbird, Captain Keller in The Miracle Worker, and Henry Potter in A Wonderful Life. This is Jon's third show paired with Margi Hankins, having played opposite her in Love Letters  and Rumors. It is also Jon's third show under the direction of Bruce Tinker (Communicating Doors and Rumors). When not on  stage, Jon is a trial attorney with Miller Johnson. Jon wants to thank the love of his life, wife, and best friend, Mary Ann, for letting him come out and play.

 

Carole McNulty (Ethel) may be new to the Civic stage but is no stranger to theatre.  Carole has performed with Dinner Theatres in Chicago and Detroit and is currently working with the Aquinas Emeritus Players.  Carole has also done many roles in community theatre to include Same Time Next Year, Mary, Mary, A Thousand Clowns, Arsenic & Old Lace, My Fat Friend, and Vanities to name a few.

 

 

Candice Rain Rowland (Eileen) is joining us for the first time at Grand Rapids Civic Theatre.  Candice is a Theatre major graduate of Grand Valley State University and appeared there in a variety of shows including Shakespeare’s Measure for Measure.   Candice has also appeared with Holland Civic Theatre in,  A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum and with Theatre North TC in Traverse City in A My Name is Alice.
