AUDITION FOR A SHOW!

Actors - Anyone who ever wanted to act, from the novice to the most seasoned actor, is welcome to audition for our Main Stage and Children's Theatre productions. From Musicals, Comedies, Shakespeare to Children's productions there is something for everyone.

Below is a list of upcoming auditions for our current season. For more informaiton about specific auditions, please contact is by calling the theatre at (616) 222-6650 ext. 4. Those planning to audition will be asked to read from a script. For musical auditions, come with a prepared song and be ready to take part in a dance audition. Some auditions require advance registration.

Summer Repertory Theatre

Performances: August 1 - August 10, 2008: Tues, Wed, Thu, Fr @7:30pm, Sat & Sun @ 3 & 7:30pm
Rehearsals: July 1 – 31, Sundays: 2-8pm, Monday-Friday: 3-10pm
Cast Needs: 40-50 multi-ethnic teens aged 14-19, singers, actors, dancers, rappers

FIRST ROUND OF AUDIITONS – SRT auditions start out in the community in late April. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS These auditions mimic the “American Idol” auditions seen on TV. Selected artists will win a “golden ticket” to the Finals at GRCT.

FINAL Auditions: by appointment, May 12 & 13, 2008 – Finalists are chosen through the preliminary rounds. CLICK HERE FOR DETAILS Requirements: All auditionees must submit a theatrical resume, prepare 16 measures of a song and bring sheet music to auditions. An accompanist will be provided. All auditionees must prepare a one-minute memorized monologue and participate in a group dance audition, and interview with the technical team.

ALICE
A book by Whoopi Goldberg, adapted for the stage by Kim Hines

Loosely based on the Lewis Carroll books, Alice is a “sassy little black girl” on a journey to claim “the sweepstakes of a lifetime.” Joined by her two best friends ­ an “imaginary” rabbit named Sal, and a real-life “nerd” named Robin ­ she travels to New York where she encounters all kinds of crazy people and situations that help Alice discover the real treasure in life but will it be too late?
